Homeless Outreach Opportunity
THANKS to EVERYONE who helped to provide Welcome Home Baskets and Outreach Team Boxes for the Homeless Community!
In lieu of hosting Room in the Inn this summer – in addition to delivering sack lunches and breakfast bags to the Presbyterian Night Shelter (PNS) – St. Stephen has been assembling Welcome Home Baskets and Outreach Team Boxes to serve our homeless friends.
With increased funding for housing, the Tarrant County Homeless Coalition (TCHC) is transitioning approximately 50 individuals into housing each month this summer. To help with this move, TCHC gives each of them a laundry basket filled with household items.
To reduce population density in the shelters and encourage social distancing, homeless encampments are currently not being shut down by the City of Fort Worth. Outreach teams visit these camps to establish relationships and provide needed services, as well as deliver assembled boxes of various necessities.
With your donations, combined with the many items contributed by our good friends at First Presbyterian and Godley United Methodist, we have delivered 40 welcome baskets and will be delivering 20 outreach boxes next week.
SINCERE THANKS to everyone who has participated in this project.
