Our response to the Explosion in the Town of West, Texas
 
We hold the community of West in our prayers after the horrific explosion. The presbytery has been in touch with the pastors of the churches in Hillsboro and Waco, the closest congregations to West. These congregations have extended families and friends that live in West and not all have been accounted for.
 
Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA) has been in touch. PDA is sending a team to be on the scene that includes a retired Los Angeles police officer with firefighting training, a hospital chaplain and Harvey Howell, PDA Staff, to coordinate its efforts.
 
As the presbytery learns of specific needs, we will communicate them with you. At this time, here is what you can do:
 
Pray for the community of West

Give money for disaster relief fund. You may send your money to the presbytery office:

Act As disasters remind us, that communities are always in need of a steady donation of blood so we are prepared for disasters.
