ONLY ONE SERVICE ON OCTOBER 20 DUE TO KIRKIN’ OF THE TARTAN.
St. Stephen Presbyterian Church will hold its annual “Kirkin’ of the Tartan” worship service in its cathedral-style sanctuary on Sunday, October 20, at 11:00 am. The service includes music from the Fort Worth Scottish Pipes and Drums as well as special music by the St. Stephen choir conducted by Organist and Director of Music Ministries Jordan Smith, and the procession of tartans. It is followed by a large luncheon in the Parish Hall with traditional favorites, including haggis. All are welcome to attend.
The Kirkin’ of the Tartan is a service that celebrates the Scottish heritage of the Presbyterian Church USA. “St. Stephen is an unusually beautiful and apt venue for a Kirkn’ service,” says its pastor, Rev. Dr. Fritz Ritsch. “That’s why it has drawn a loyal and enthusiastic following over the years. Celebrating the Kirkin’ at St. Stephen is considered by many to be a unique Fort Worth event.”
