Confirmation Retreat Starts At Samaritan House

Confirmation Retreat, November 18 (Friday), 5 p.m. – November 19 (Saturday), 2 p.m.

The Confirmation Class will kick off their retreat by preparing, cooking, and serving the evening meal at Samaritan House, a communal living home for AIDS patients. The class is expected to meet at 5 p.m., Friday, November 18, to deliver the food to Samaritan House; however, those who volunteer to cook the dinner may need to come right after school to actually mix ingredients and bake the meal.

This will be followed by community-building games, faith-challenging movie analyses, and overnight antics with Beth Fultz, the Director of Christian Education. In the morning, Saturday, November 19, we’ll choose teams to cook breakfast or lunch, while we work on faith issues with Pastor Fritz Ritsch.

Our final hours will be spent working on FAITH STATEMENT drafts with our Confirmation adult partners. The Faith Statement in final form is due to Beth Fultz’ office on Sunday, December 11, for distribution to the Session for the Confirmand Examination on Sunday, December 18.
