The 2012-2013 St. Stephen Special Series presents. . .

American Popular Music

(A Concert by the Sanctuary Choir and Friends)

April 28, 2013 (Sunday)  – 3:00 p.m.

From the music of Stephen Foster through music by American composers living today, the Sanctuary Choir and friends will present a nostalgic look at some of the beautiful melodies and harmonies that define American popular music.  You will hear arrangements for choir, ensembles, solos, piano duets, handbells and organ, performing popular classics from the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries.  The program will last about 1 hour and 20 minutes and will include works by Stephen Foster, Scott Joplin, George M. Cohan, Jerome Kern, Irving Berlin, George Gershwin, Richard Rodgers, Leonard Bernstein, Stephen Sondheim and others.

Please join us for this celebration of memorable melodies and lush harmonies in the beautiful light of a Sunday afternoon in the St. Stephen church sanctuary.
