What’s Happening at St. Stephen!
It’s Beginning to look a lot like Christmas here at St. Stephen! The poinsettias and Christmas trees are up and the place is hopping. Here are some things to look forward to the next few weeks:
Christmas Eve Services
Saturday, Dec. 24, join us for one, or all three, Christmas Eve services.
Our 12:00 noon Service of Lessons and Carols takes place in the Chapel of the Holy Trinity, in the Education Building to the left of the door leading in from the covered walkway.
At 5:00, join us for our family-friendly service in the Main Sanctuary, in which children are invited to come forward to participate in a reenactment of the birth of Jesus in Luke. Afterwards, join us for snacks and hot chocolate!
Then, at 8:00 pm (please note the time!), our Candlelight Christmas Eve Service with The Lord’s Supper and full choir takes place in the Main Sanctuary, preceded at 7:30 pm by an organ concert by St. Stephen’s outstanding organist and choirmaster, Mitchell Crawford.
Christmas Morning
There will be only one Christmas morning service at 10:00 am in the East Transept of the Main Sanctuary. Rev. Ritsch will be preaching.
New Year’s Day
Sunday, January 1, there will be one full service with the Lord’s Supper at 10:00 am in the East Transept of the Main Sanctuary. Our guest preacher will be Rev. Wayne Menking, an ELCA (Evangelical Lutheran Church of America) pastor and long-time friend of St. Stephen.
