#1 Dr. Tim Sandoval Presents Wisdom Literature In Lecture, Discussion & Presentation
Dr. Tim Sandoval, Associate Professor of Hebrew Bible at Brite Divinity, has agreed to lead the Northminster Class (All Adult Classes are combined), June 1, 8, 15, and 22.
#2 Joseph McDonald, Brite Student, Presents “Joseph and Sarah in the Bible and Early Jewish Interpretation”
Joseph McDonald is completing his Ph.D. in Hebrew Bible and Ancient Jewish Literature at Brite Divinity School. He will present “Joseph in the Bible and Early Jewish Interpretation” first’ and “Sarah in the Bible and Early Jewish Interpretation” second. June 29, July 20.
#3 Dr. Warren Carter Presents Matthew and Mark in Lecture, Discussion and Presentation
Dr. Warren Carter works in the Gospels especially Matthew and Mark. He is particularly interested in ways in which the early Christian movement negotiated Roman power. He is currently working on a commentary on Mark which foregrounds matters of gender. July 6, 13.
#4 TCU Doctoral Student, Rev. Lisa Barnett Presents Native American Church and Peyotism In Lecture and Discussion
Rev. Lisa Barnett is currently a doctoral student in the History program at TCU. She is a Brite Divinity alum, 2008 and 2010, and has had several essays published about TCU. She is currently working on this theme: the spread of peyotism in the late nineteenth century brought efforts by missionaries and government officials to eradicate this religious practice of many Native Americans. July 27, August 3.
#5 Dr. Newell Williams Presents Trends in American Religion in Lecture and Discussion
Dr. Williams will handle two classes: August 10th and 17th in bringing our attention to Trends in American Religion and Trends in the Presbyterian Church (USA), our home denomination.
