A Letter from guest commentator, Missionary Sharon Curry
I wish I could describe in a few short words the amazing work that God has been doing in the past few weeks. I have been on a whirlwind of travel from Big Tent in Indianapolis to a few days of R&R in Tennessee, to two weeks of Ecumenical training in Toronto, and now, I am “resting” in Louisville at the PCUSA portion of orientation training for my new position as Health and Development Consultant for South Sudan – 8 to 10 hours a day of training and fellowship with PCUSA World Mission staff.
What an amazing group of people I have been able to add to my church family!! Every time I think my heart can’t grow anymore, I find that it is true what they say – “God is already there” – and He continues to make room for more.
I overheard a lady at Big Tent say that she thought the mission work her church did was big, until she came there and found out it didn’t even fill a pin head. As I continue to be surrounded by the love and dedication of so many – staff, current and previous mission co-workers – dedicated to spreading God’s love through out the world, I am amazed at how far and wide the church has spread and continues to grow. I am filled with the stories they tell and their love, faith and dedication.
If you would like to hear my stories while I am in South Sudan, please drop me an email or write your name and complete address on a piece of paper for the next time I see you. I would love to hear from you and would love to add you to my list.
You can e-mail me at: [email protected].
Blessings and peace to you all! I can’t wait to see you again.
Peace be with you!
