“…when I returned to Highlands Camp for my second week of volunteer work in late July, I was paired with a group of youth from St. Stephen Presbyterian Church from Fort Worth, Texas, that was there for a Mission Camp. For a week, I worked shoulder to shoulder with young men and women who were dedicated hard workers and passionate about their faith. It was humbling to see the sacrifice of time, talent, and treasure that this group freely gave to Highlands Camp. I was impressed with how well organized this team was, and how hard everyone worked! We spent five days building a Vesper site by the pond, while another team “slaved away” at the re-roofing the Activity Center. I have never seen so many youth and adult sponsors work so hard in service to the Highlands Camp ministry. It was truly inspirational. Their contribution to Highlands Presbyterian Camp and Retreat Center was truly as blessing. I sincerely hope that they will consider returning in 2014, and that I am privileged and honored to be able to work with them again. They are a fine crew of talented and hard working Christians, and it was a JOY to be included on their team.
